The Freewheeling for those that might be new to it is a bit of end of season fun, although some take it very seriously! No pedalling allowed and free wheel downhill and see how far you can get. There’s a fine trophy for the winner. While that’s going on the Dum Up barbecue will be hotting up nearby to … Continue reading

This would be suitable for anyone who wants to come along for a ride, whether a club member or not. Route and cafe stop will be decided on the day depending on who turns up and the weather!
The Club will be supporting the East Lothian Festival of Sport week in the first week of September with a cafe run on Sunday 9th September. Meet outside the clubrooms at the Old Town Hall in Musselburgh for a 9am departure. This race is held on the A7 25TT course starting just north of Galashiels and turning just south of Heriot. There’s been a 54 and 55 on this course earlier this year and it’s regularly used by Gala CC. Well worth a late season ride. The revived Border Trophy TT series took place on Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th June at Kelso and Galashiels respectively. These are open events but times count towards the Border Trophy between the Kelso and Gala clubs. They are hoping to extend the events to include other Border clubs and keep them as open events as well. The kelso course was from Kelso to a dead turn at the far end of Birgham and return to Kelso. 23:41 for me … Continue reading
Lovely warm sunny morning across in Ffe on the Freuchie 10 course. Nice to race in the warmth for a change and I think this is my favourite 10 course, despite the various turns and rises – I like it:) Another impressive ride from Rab Carson and I think that’s the 2nd 20 min 10 he’s produced on that course this year. Next outing for me will be West Lothian Clarion’s 10 at Cambusbarron next Sunday 3rd June. 1 Robert Carson … Continue reading
